Polar Bears Against Palin

Sunday, 28 September 2008 21:06 by Tamara

Polar bears have it tough - the polar ice caps are melting; the fish are disappearing. Now Sarah Palin is on the verge of becoming the Vice President of the United States. Well, screw that!

As governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin sued the Bush administration for trying to put the polar bears on the endangered species list. Can you get any more wrong than that?

Stand up, polar bears! Stand up and fight! Say 'no' to Sarah Palin.

Rock the Vote!

Up for the challenge!?

Sunday, 21 September 2008 22:05 by Tamara

I have an amazing game that has to be played. Specifically created just for me and this rockin' site.

Polar Bear Crossing

This is my first featured game. Created by the man behind the curtain.

This game is themed to saving the baby polar bears by crossing them over the water safely to mother bear!

I love this game and it always keeps me entertained. Try it out and see if you can beat my niece, Kayleigh's high score. :)

Go ahead have fun!

Take Action!

Sunday, 21 September 2008 20:35 by Tamara
polar bear sos

Okay everyone we need to take action and tell the Bush Administration to grant the polar bear full-fledged protection as an endangered species! Please go to Polar Bear SOS and take action.

Make your voice heard and don't stop until we make a change and close the polluter loopholes. Everyone out there, if you care about the polar bears, you have to stand up for them and make things right. It only take a second of your time and that could grant the polar bears a life time. I did it and you can do it too.

Polar Bears and Sharks don't mix.

Friday, 19 September 2008 18:52 by Tamara
"~   As if polar bears in the North Pole didn't have enough to worry about these days: Scientists have found the bone of a young bear in the stomach of a Greenland   shark, Reuters reports. The unprecedented discovery prompts a "million dollar question," says one researcher: Do the bears now have to worry about sharks as predators? It seems improbable that the sluggish shark could catch and kill a bear, but the possibility raises intriguing questions.

As polar bears lose their habitat to warming waters, researchers sculate that they will have to spend more time in the water and thus be vulnerable to sharks. Others say the bone probably came from a scavenged carcass. "The Greenland shark simply cannot afford the risk of injury nor the expenditure of energy required to kill such a large and dangerous animal,” says one expert. "There is far easier prey to be found."   ~"

I personally don't think a shark is that stupid, but you never know. It does make sense that a polar bear could get attacked by a shark. Just one more thing to add to the struggling polar bears.

Keep ya posted!

Cute Little Video

Wednesday, 17 September 2008 16:56 by Tamara

This morning I went on my myspace and I have received a comment from my good friend, Amanda. She sent me this cute little video of a baby polar bear being taken care of by a very caring soul. Unfortunally it has the music of "Heartbearker" by Mariah Carey. I was able to look past that and just focus on the cute little polar bear.

I think that is it so amazing that someone is able to take care of a wild animal like that. I wish I could do that. I would cuddle them all day. Maybe someday I will get the chance to do something as amazing as that!

This Is The Start Of Something Good.

Monday, 15 September 2008 07:29 by Tamara

As a result of global warming, sea ice in the Arctic is melting earlier and forming later each year. Research funded by WWF found that polar bears are left with less time on the ice to hunt for food and build up their fat stores, and increased time on land where they must fast. As their ice habitat shrinks, skinnier and hungrier polar bears face a grave challenge to their survival.

If current warming trends continue unabated, scientists believe that polar bears may disappear within 100 years. WWF funds field research by the world's foremost experts on polar bears to find out how global warming is impacting the long-term condition of polar bears. Near Churchill, Manitoba, WWF-funded scientists go out in helicopters to assess and monitor the Western Hudson Bay polar bear population in relation to long-term changes in condition and reproduction caused by global warming.

WWF is working to stop global warming and help save polar bears and this is my way of contributing in the act of saving the world and my passion, the polar bears.

So welcome.
